Inspection Comments

Advisory visit conducted at establishment with owner (Christiana C.), EH supervisor (RS# 1206), and EH managing supervisor (RS# 678). The visits was conducted with owner to assess compliance with EF-21-00161 regarding nine consecutive violations for violation #53, Core-6-501.114, C: Maintaining Premises, Unnecessary Items and Litter. At the time of inspection, the establishment was not in compliance with EF-21-00161. The following items were discussed: 1. Owner must provide EH supervisor and EH managing supervisor a written timeline and plan for correcting violation not to exceed 30 days by 6/18/2021. 2. The plan must address which items the establishment wishes to keep and which items will be removed. 3. The plan must include how items that are kept will be cleaned and maintained clean. 4. The plan must include weekly updates to EH supervisor and EH managing supervisor regarding progress on correcting violation. 5. By close of business on 7/16/2021, establishment must have violation #53 corrected and be in compliance with EF-21-00161. 6. Providing plan and updates is the responsibility of the owner. 7. Failure to comply with any of these above items may result in additional County enforcement action as outlined in EF-21-00161. During meeting with owner, the following ideas were given but not limited to the owner to address violations including: 1. Obtaining a storage facility. 2. Selling excess equipment. 3. Contacting a salvage removal service. 4. Discarding items that cannot be sold. 5. Deep cleaning any remaining items that are needs for establishment. 6. Contacting other businesses to determine whether they can use equipment. Additional observations noted during inspection included dead roach in drawer of excess equipment and unapproved pesticide powder applied at perimeter of establishment. Report was emailed to and inspection rights acknowledged by Christiana C. No County legal action will result from this inspection.

Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
