Inspection Comments

E&D, class 3 10+ Construction inspection was conducted with the manager, Alexis H. The new RPZ for the soda carbonator of the front service counter had been installed. However, the 1022 backflow for the tea brewer had not been installed. Please address the following items prior to the routine inspection: 1. Provide a vented dual check valve (ASSE 1022) at the water connection point of the tea brewer. Ensure the backflow preventer must be installed in a visible area for maintenance and monitoring purpose. Provide before the routine inspection. 2. Noted the establishment is using camping type propane stoves to make boba. These are not approved to be used. Please obtain an induction cook top(s) to cook boba with. 3. Noted first aid items, personal items, medications, etc. are storing among food/ items to be served for customers. Personal items must be stored inside lockers. First aid items must be in a dedicated area. Relocate. 4. Noted another floor-mixer is stored in the dry storage area. Per manager, this is an extra one and not being used. Remove/ relocate the equipment to an area where there is a hand sink within view or off the premise. 5. Noted spray bottles with clear liquid in them without labeling. Instructed manager to label the bottles with the name of the liquid inside the bottles. 6. Do not store any foods or single service/ single use items under drainpipes or wet areas. No county legal action will result from this inspection. Emailed the report to the owner.

Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
