New owner inspection walk through. Ice manufacturer is in operation. Please follow up on the items below before the follow up inspection: 1). Remove the water from the lid of the auger. If this this is normally not wet then clean and maintain clean. If it stays wet then fill in and make sure that there is no water standing in the depressions. 2). Unclog the floor sink in the room. 3). Replace the plastic sheeting in the ice bin that is damaged. 4). Install a door sweep and close the gap under the door. 5). Provide an ice paddle and hook to be able to move the ice when needed. Store on a hook so it remains clean. 6). There is a motor mounted right above the ice bin, please install a catch pan under the motor just in case there is a leak. 7). Finishes in the ice room will need touch up, joints need to be covered, with corner guards or FRP trims. FRP needs to be tight with the wall. Re-mount FRP like at hand sink window frame, entrance of room from ice makers and where loose. See if you can get to the panels behind the ice bin. 8). Please start with replacing iron bolts and nuts with stainless where rusted in the ice chases. 9). Lead the hand sink drain to the floor sink, lead along the wall, properly brace and keep a 1 inch air gap. 10). Provide a self closer for the ice room entry door. 11). All penetrations through the walls around water and drain lines for example need to be finished out smooth and easily cleanable. 10). In the restroom, install missing coved base and re-mount loose base. 11). Provide tempered water in the restroom. 12). Freezer base is being replaced in the section where it is missing. 13). In the freezer install outlet cover. 14). In freezer continue patching wall and ceiling finishes where seams and areas are open. 15). Remove all items that you do not longer need, inside and outside. If you widen the door opening between the ice room and the freezer then make sure to finish it out smooth, durable and easily cleanable. Follow up inspection will be conducted May 22nd at 9 AM. Please note that fees may be charged for follow inspections past the one following. This establishment/operation has been evaluated and qualifies for the issuance of the permit. To complete the permitting process, meaning issuance of this permit, and begin operation, the applicant must first submit payment of the annual operating permit fee to the Department’s Administrative Services. Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
