Inspection Comments

E&D, class 3 10+ Equipment inspection was conducted without appointment. There are electrical workers at the site. The superintendent is not at the site. Contacted the superintendent, Kim H. by phone to discuss the progress of the construction. Construction is at 90% completion. Most equipment is on site and installed. Please address the following items before the final construction: 1. Provide test reports for the testable backflow preventer. 2. Provide vented dual check valve at the water connection point of each tea/ coffee brewer. Backflow preventer must be installed in a visible location for monitoring and maintenance purpose. 3. Paint the substrate of the countertop, around the cut-out of the countertop with semi-gloss paint. 4. Provide rigid drainpipe for drains from filter, drain trough, drip trays, overflow lines of the filter, etc. 5. Provide a larger cut out or remove the bottom shelf of the cabinet under the soda fountain drink station. There will be drainpipes from ice maker and soda fountain drink drain trough. Paint the wood around the cut out or provide plastic/ metal trim around the cutout in the cabinet. No county legal action will result from this inspection. Report is auto-email to the owner and sent to superintendent. Please contact the Department at 602-506-6824 to schedule the next inspection. Allow 7-15 business days to schedule.

e.g. - Food employees do not properly wash hands when required
Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
