Inspection Comments

E&D, class 3 10+ Construction inspection was conducted with the store manager, Tilest P. The establishment is open and operating. None of the items in the last report had been addressed. A minor remodel permit will be created to address all facility items. Please address the following items prior to the next routine inspection: 1. The establishment cut and wash vegetables. Provide a food prep sink. Sink must have hot and cold water and indirectly discharge to the nearest floor sink with minimum 1” air gap from the finished floor. 2. Provide sides and back splashguards on the hand sink at the front service area. There are cups, bags of chips, and equipment stored within 24 inches around this hand sink. Provide splash guards or relocate the merchandise. 3. Provide minimum 1” air gap from the finished floor for the drainpipe from the drain trough of the soda fountain station and the 3-comp sink. Extend the other drainpipes in this area so the liquid waste can discharge into the floor sink and not at the edge of the floor sink. 4. Certify the RPZ backflow of the soda carbonator and provide report. 5. Provide / replace a vented dual check valve backflow preventer (ASSE 1022) at the water connection of the tea brewer. 6. Replace water filters last replacement was July of 2022. 7. Provide washable ceiling tiles above the self-service soda fountain station. 8. Provide 3/8” radius cove base at cabinet base and floor junctures of the self-service station. 9. Provide missing grout on base tiles at the front service counter. 10. Relocate the cleaning chemical above the cleaned wares to the lowest shelf. Chemical cannot be stored above food, drinks or wares. No County legal action will result from this inspection. Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
