The same brown ice was observed inside the ice compartment of the drive thru soda machine. Per PIC, a work order was submitted a day prior to this inspection to have ice machine serviced. There was evidence that the ice had been used. PIC stated that they have been telling drive thru customers that they had no ice. PIC voluntarily advised employee to pour hot water and sanitizer inside the drive thru ice bin to melt the ice. Advised PIC to drain and put an out of order sign on the main ice machine. An out of order sign was placed on the main ice bin and door was taped shut. Per PIC, the plan is to buy ice after the lunch rush. Explained how ice is considered food and should not be used when deemed Unsafe, Adulterated, or Contaminated.
