PRIORITY VIOLATION-5-202.13, P: Backflow Prevention, Air Gap--- Observed a drain pipe coming from espresso machine not having a 1 inch air gap between the drain pipe and the floor rim of the floor drain during re-inspection. Person in charge stated she will have issue corrected before the second re-inspection that will be conducted within 3 days. An air gap between the water supply inlet and the flood level rim of the PLUMBING FIXTURE, EQUIPMENT, or nonFOOD EQUIPMENT shall be at least twice the diameter of the water supply inlet and may not be less than 25 mm (1 inch).

An Active Managerial Control Intervention Visit was offered to the person in charge. Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced
food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance
with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
