Inspection Comments

E&D, class 3, 10+ seating Plumbing inspection was conducted with the superintendent, Mike N. Construction is at 70% completion. Equipment will be installed later this week. Person in charge acknowledged the inspection rights. Please address the following items prior to the next inspection: 1. Provide a hand sink next to the 3-comp sink. The nearest hand sink is blocked by dry storage rack. Sink must have hot and cold water and side splashguards. 2. Provide an ASSE 1013, reduced pressure zone assembly, at the water connection point of the soda carbonator. Conduits and fittings after the RPZ must be PEX or stainless-steel. Please do not use copper or brass alloy downstream from the backflow preventer. Certify the backflow preventer and provide report. 3. Provide an ASSE 1022, vented dual check valve backflow preventer, at the water connection point of the coffee/ tea brewer and any non-carbonated drink equipment. Please be advised this backflow preventer is not testable; therefore, it must be replaced annually or whenever it leaks, whichever comes first. Another option is to install another RPZ dedicated for all non-carbonated drink equipment. 4. Provide at least 1” air gap from the finished floor for: a. Condensation pipes from walk-in units; b. Drainpipes from drink equipment, ice machine, and backflow preventers’ vent ports; c. Drainpipes from 3-comp sink and food prep sink. d. Drainpipes from cold drop-in or steam table. 5. Any equipment with direct water connection must have a backflow preventer for the equipment. See attached backflow preventer handout. 6. Provide air curtain at delivery door. No County legal action will result from this inspection. Emailed the report to the owner and superintendent. Please contact the Department at 602-506-6824 to schedule the next inspection. e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control.
