PIC is not fulfilling their required duties of portraying food safety knowledge to their employees and ensuring that basic items required for food safety have been made available. Corrections to the above items will be addressed on violations below and the execution of the duties as required will be assessed during the next routine inspection.

Observed cloth towels in the restroom intended for drying hands. Discussed the importance of having all hand sinks supplied with hot water, soap and paper towels to support proper handwashing. The establishment has retail items but does not sell this item. Discussed that only a certified pest control company is authorized to apply pesticides. The PIC removed the pesticides from the building at the time of inspection.

Discussed the importance of using a chemical test strip to ensure chlorine levels are maintained at the proper concentration (50-100ppm). A re-inspection will take place on 1/21/2022 to ensure test strips has been purchased.

PRIORITY VIOLATION-5-205.15 (A), P: System Maintained in Good Repair; According to Law ------ Observed the drains for the wash and rinse compartments of the 3 compartment sink disconnected from the drain pipe and allowed to freely run onto the floor. Discussed that plumbing must be maintained in good repair and according to law and that all waste water must drain into an approved sewer system. The establishment sells ice bagged onsite and fountain drinks but no other open foods. A re-inspection will be conducted within 24 hours to ensure that the drain has been fixed so that the soda nozzles and ice scoop can be properly washed, rinsed and sanitized.

Inspection Comments

This establishment is not participating in the award program at this time and had 1 Priority, 5 Priority Foundation and 1 Core Violations on this inspection. A re-inspection will take place within 24 hours to ensure Priority violation #49 and priority foundation violations #8 have been corrected, and that an approved sanitizer and dish soap have been has been purchased. A re-inspection will take place on 1/21/2022 to ensure priority foundation violation #46 has been corrected. Of note: Establishment intends to use chlorine sanitizer but only has scented bleach. Scented bleach is not an approved sanitizer. PIC will obtain regular bleach within 24 hours to ensure food contact surfaces can be properly sanitized. Please address the following items prior to the routine inspection: 1) Provide the lid for the soda fountain sump pump unit. 2) Trim the foam sealant in the walk-in coolers flush and provide a smooth layer of silicone. 3) Continue caulking the gaps around the newly installed splash guard which has come separated from the current caulking. Notice of Inspections Rights were verbally reviewed with manager, Hardik R. A copy of the report was emailed to the manager. No County legal action will result from this inspection.

Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
