At handwash sink in the back, observed no hand drying provision available at time of inspection. Discussed the importance of having all hand sinks supplied with hot water, soap and paper towels to support proper handwashing. The PIC was able to find paper towels in the office and all hand sinks in establishment were supplied with paper towels at the time of inspection.

Along the guard inside the ice machine, observed accumulation of brown organic matter. Discussed cleaning areas at a frequency that prevents buildup. Correct prior to next routine inspection.

Toxic substances properly identified, stored, and used
Priority Foundation-7-202.11, Pf: Restriction-Presence and Use At front register, observed a half used can of Black Flag pesticide spray that, per employee, is used by establishment. Establishment did not observe to be selling Black Flag pesticide spray for retail purposes at time of inspection. Discussed that only a certified pest control company is authorized to apply pesticides. The PIC threw out the can of pesticide spray at the time of inspection. 2nd Repeat violation PRIORITY VIOLATION-7-201.11, P: Separation-Storage On wire racks above 3 compartment sink directly next to ice machine, observed a bottle of multipurpose cleaner and a bottle of dish soap being stored directly above the bags that are intended to be used for bagged ice. Per employee, these bags were not going to be used to bag ice and they were going to be disposed of. Discussed that based off the location with the ice machine being directly next to these bags, any bags not intended to be used to bag ice should be disposed of immediately so they do not mix in with the bags that are going to be used. Discussed storing all chemicals separately where they pose no risk of contaminating food or food contact surfaces. Employee disposed of the bags stored under the chemicals at time of inspection. Employee moved chemicals to designated away from possible contamination of food or dishes at time of inspection.

Core-6-201.11, C: Floors, Walls and Ceilings-Cleanability Observed missing and heavily stained ceiling tiles in the retail part of establishment. Repair/replace ceiling with vinyl ceiling tiles to provide a smooth, cleanable surface prior to next routine inspection. Core-6-501.12, C: Cleaning, Frequency and Restrictions Throughout establishment, observed accumulation of loose cardboard/paper/plastic debris, mainly in the walk in and in the back area near soda bibs and the ice machine. Observed carboard in walk in and near ice machine to be wet from moisture. Observed accumulation on cob webs throughout back of establishment near unused equipment storage and 3 compartment sink. Observed heavy accumulation of dirt and debris along floors of back of establishment starting near the employee restroom all the way to the ice machine. Clean areas and maintain a regular cleaning frequency to prevent buildup prior to next routine inspection.
