Inspection Comments

OC inspection conducted with owner Van N. by appointment. Inspection rights were delivered via email. The establishment was closed and not operating. The establishment is not approved to operate. Please address the following items prior to the OC re-inspection: 1) Provide an audible alarm for the sump pump installed the restroom. 2) Please determine where the condensate drain for walk-in cooler is being drain to. The line enters the north wall of the cooler and then can not be located after. 3) Provide a splash guard between the prep sink and three compartment sink and caulk all gaps around the splash guard. 4) Caulk all wall holes and plumbing penetrations throughout the facility with silicone. 5) Replace the torn gaskets on the reach-in cooler units, as needed. 6) Replace the rusted metal cove base in the walk-in cooler interior with new metal cove base (1/4 inch) minimum. 7) Refinish or replace the rusted metal shelving units located in the cooler units, as needed. 8) Flash off the top of the walk-in cooler. 9) Replace the perforated acoustical ceiling tiles throughout the kitchen and bathroom with vinyl, washable tiles or flip the existing tiles and paint with semi-gloss paint. 10) Reseal the ventilation hood gaps with an aluminum-type silicone. 11) Provide rubber cove base to the floor/wall junctures of the kitchen area, as needed. Ensure the base of the rubber base is caulked-in with silicone. 12) Provide a finger cove or tool (3/8th inch) minimum to the floor/wall junctures of the restroom and front service counter area. Utilize siliconized grout. 13) Provide a u-shaped toilet seat in the restroom. At the OC re-inspection, ensure hot water measuring 120' minimum is provided to the plumbing system and all refrigerators are on and measuring at 41' F or below. Reviewed sanitizer solutions at time of inspection. Please contact the Department to schedule a follow-up inspection at 602.506.6824 once violations have been corrected. Please be advised that the New Business Permit Application fee includes one initial inspection and one follow-up inspection. Additional fees will be assessed for any additional follow-up plan review inspections. MCESD inspection report was delivered via email. No County legal action will result from this inspection.

Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control.
