Inspection Comments

First inspection walk through with the superintendent. The following items were discussed: 1). Water heater will be on a stand so the floor can be easily cleaned. 2). Washer dryer is in the back room and will e positioned away from the kitchen by a long demising wall, ok not to close in. 3). Dryer vent on the exterior will be caulked in and penetration sealed. 4). Hand sink has been moved to besides the food prep sink. 5). Water heater has to be minimum 50 gallons with a 50 % recovery or better. 6). Separate water feed will need to be installed for the chemical dispenser at the mop sink. 7). Please note that the restroom requires a coved floor/ wall juncture. 8). Restroom door will require a self closer. 9). No backflow valve is required for the ice machine. Check with City for requirements. 10). Ice machine will be positioned to the floor sink is accessible for cleaning. 11). Hand sink plumbing on back wall will be capped behind wall unless owner wants to keep the connections. Next inspection when equipment is set. See plan review stipulation letter for some of the same and additional comments. No County legal action will result from this inspection. e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
