Inspection Comments

E&D, class 4 10+ Equipment inspection was conducted with the owner, Ronnetta. Construction is at 90% completion. Most of the equipment are on site and installed. Please address the following items prior to the final construction inspection: 1. Provide a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly for the soda carbonator. Conduits and fittings after the RPZ must be PEX or stainless-steel. Please do not use copper or brass alloy downstream from the RPZ. Provide a drain cup for the device. Drainpipe must be rigid and indirectly discharge to a floor sink with 1” air gap from the finished floor. Certify the backflow device and provide report. 2. Provide a vented dual check valve backflow preventer at the water connection point of each coffee/ tea brewer. 3. Provide rigid drainpipes for ice bins, ice machine, dishwashers, drain troughs, drip trays, vent ports of backflow preventers. Pipes must be braced with metal brackets along the walls, must be 6” off the floor, and slope to drain with 1” air gap to the nearest floor sink. Air gap is from flood rim to end of pipe. 4. Provide a micro-switch operate air curtain at delivery door. The trash enclosure is very close to the delivery door. 5. Provide hot water. Hot water must be at 140*F. Tempered water must be at 95*F. Hot water must be at point of service within 45 seconds upon activation. 6. Flash off top of the hood to the ceiling grid. Please use metal material. 7. Provide metal cove base around the exterior and interior of the walk-in unit. 8. Provide sanitary toilet seats for the toilets. 9. Provide lid for trash can in the women’s restroom. 10. Provide washable ceiling tiles in kitchen, bar and prep areas. 11. Caulk and seal all holes, gaps, cracks and penetrations throughout. This includes die wall and countertop, between trims, corner guards, etc. 12. Provide escutcheon plates around all pipe penetrations. Please seal around the pipes first. Please contact the Department at 602-506-6824 to schedule the next inspection. Allow 7-10 business days to schedule. No County legal action will result from this inspection.

Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control.
