Inspection Comments

Construction inspection conducted with Gabe G. At the time of this inspection, this project was about 45% complete. Stopped in to inspect ceilings over front counter areas were smooth and easy to clean after receiving change order list. Inspection report emailed to Mark M. Repair the following prior to next inspection: 1. Provide an approved handwashing sink with metal splashguards in the barista area as discussed. 2. Ensure to install an ASSE 1013 RPZ backflow prevention assembly on each water line upstream of the RO system. 3. Provide a reduced pressure principle backflow device (ASSE standard 1013) for the nitro system. 4. Provide a reduced pressure principle backflow device (ASSE standard 1013) for any hot and cold-water lines feeding a rinser at the dump/rinse sinks. 5. Ensure that all non-carbonated beverage systems connected to water supply have an individual ASSE 1022 upstream of the devices (coffee, beverage dispenser). 6. Certify all backflow preventers and provide a copy of the backflow preventer test certification. 7. Provide a rigid waste drain line indirectly connected with a minimum 1-inch air gap to the sewer through a floor sink for all drip tray systems and equipment used for food service (No PEX Lines). 8. Brace all waterlines above drain lines. 9. Provide uni-strut for the drain lines and secure all uni-struts to the floor as discussed. 10. Ensure that all concrete floors are finished smooth, and all expansion joints or cracks are properly filled. No open cracks or open expansion joints allowed. 11. Fill all gaps cracks and penetrations (electrical and plumbing). 12. Ensure all exposed wood is painted with several coats of semi-gloss paint. 13. Provide sneeze guards for the front counter service areas as needed. 14. Ensure all hot water is available to all sink fixtures within 45-seconds. 15. Ensure hot water is provided to hand sinks between 100°F -110°F. 16. Provide air curtains with door or window activated micro-switches properly installed over the drive thru window and the overhead door. Light switches and breaker boxes must not be used in place of or to circumvent door/ window activated micro-switches. Please continue with construction according to plans, stipulation letter, and inspections. Please call (602) 527-5476 for an equipment/construction inspection between 70 - 75% completion of project or if an additional onsite walk-through is needed. No county legal action will result from the inspection.

Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
