Inspection Comments

New permit inspection walk through with the new owner. The following items should be addressed before the follow up inspection: 1). Please repair the floor throughout, there are several cracks that will need to be filled. 2). Crock pot is being replaced with a dispenser. 3). Provide split escutcheon plates at the drain line of the food prep sink and for the AC condensate line. 4). Under the espresso machine the holes around the electric conduit can be caulked. 5). The hand sink in the men's room is loose and will need to be re-mounted. Caulk top wall juncture when done. 6). Provide a area to air dry dishes. A wire type rack over the sink would be the best. You can also place a metro rack to the side of the sink, 7). For the backflow valve upstream of the soda system, level out, install a second brace and have the valve tested and certified. Provide test report at time of final inspection. 8). In the break room please re-glue the missing VCT tile. 9). The Atmospheric vacuum breaker on the mop sink faucet is leaking. Please repair. 10). For the espresso machine drain line. Please provide a rigid drain line (1 inch PVC) mount to the wall and bring over to the floor sink. Place the drain line in the PVC stand pipe. Keep an air gap at the sink so you can easily access the floor sink for cleaning. 11). Drain pipe under the ice machine should be raised. Provide an air gap so the drain grate can be easily removed. Dishwasher is not used and all items not used should be removed from the kitchen. Please see if you can flash off the side and front of the mop sink. Not needed as the area is maintained clean. Manager is certified manager. Owner will re-take the test. This establishment has demonstrated sufficient compliance to proceed with the issuance of the permit. To complete the issuance of this permit and begin operation, the applicant must first submit payment of the permit fee to the Department’s Business Services Office. Per Chapter I, Regulation 4, of the Maricopa County Environmental Health Code, no person shall conduct an operation or an establishment for which a permit is required without holding the necessary and valid permit to do so. Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
