Permit update: Construction inspection was conducted without appointment. The superintendent is not presence at the time of inspection. Construction is at 70% completion. Grocery shelving are being placed; walk-in units are completed with shelving. Cold produce cases were installed. Please address the following items before the next inspection: 1. If a produce mister system is installed, then provide a reduced pressure zone assembly at the water connection point of the produce mister system. Provide a drain cup for the vent port of the backflow device. Drainpipe must be rigid and indirectly discharge to the floor sink with 1” air gap from the finished grade. 2. If a sprayer hose is installed for the produce cases, then a spill resistant vacuum breaker is required 12 inches above the water connection point of the sprayer hose. 3. Certify all testable backflow device and provide report. 4. Caulk and seal around electrical and light conduits, sprinkler, condensation pipes, drainpipes penetrations inside the walk-in units. Please use low temp silicone. 5. Provide 3/8” radius cove base at walls and floor junctures inside/ outside of the walk-in units and dry storage areas. 6. Provide semi-gloss paint on dry storage areas and restrooms’ walls and ceiling. 7. Fill gaps at expansion joint on the concrete floor. Ensure it is flushed with the level of the floor. 8. Provide door sweep and weather stripping at all exterior doors. 9. Restrooms and exterior doors must be self-closed. 10. Provide dock seal around the delivery door. No legal action will result from this inspection. Report will auto-email to the owner and sent to superintendent. Please contact the Department at 602-506-6824 to schedule the required inspection. Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
