Inspection Comments

First inspection for the retail grocery store that is open and operating. Walk through with the owner. The following items were discussed: 1). Install FRP with trims on the wall in the splash zone of the utility sink. You can install above coved base or re-do the coved base after installation. 2). Install an identical water inline water heater at the utility sink. 3). Install a utility sink with hot and cold water. 4). Adjust the door sweep in the back door and make sure you close the gap. 5). All food items in the store will need to be properly labelled with ingredients, business name, store address form source establishment. Store is selling re-packaged meats with its own labelling. Food was removed during inspection. Operator stopped selligf any product that requires temperature control for safety. You will need to follow this until you are approved to operate. You may not sell re-packaged potentially hazardous foods. Store is selling a lot of re-packaged dry goods. Foods may be packaged under the cottage law. Please go through the process and make sure that all the item are processed following their rules. On the next inspection provide: 1). State registration number for the cottage law program. 2). Food Service Worker car form a ANSI certified food training program. 3). All packaged foods will need to be labeled Permit not approved at this time. Sale of non-potentially hazardous foods, pre-packaged foods from an approved source is allowed. No County legal action will result from this inspection. Emailed to owner.

Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
