Inspection Comments

OC inspection for a Class 3 10+ E&D permit was conducted with owner Ahmed A. by appointment. The establishment was closed and not operating at time of inspection. The permit is not approved. Please address the following items prior to the OC re-inspection: 1) Provide ASSE 1055A internal air gaps to the chemical dispensers throughout the facility, as needed. Observed flex gaps installed. 2) Provide self-closure devices for the restroom and back exterior door. 3) Reseal the sink fixtures to the walls with silicone. 4) Remove all unnecessary items from the dry storage area, as needed. 5) Provide additional lighting at the warewash area and dough prep room. Ensure light shields are provided throughout. 6) Provide a finger or tool cove to the floor/wall junctures throughout the facility with a siliconized grout. (3/8th inch minimum) 7) Fill all wall holes throughout the facility with silicone. 8) Regrout the tile flooring around the sink fixtures, as needed, to provide a smooth and flush finish. 9) Replace the small refrigerated make table, as discussed. 10) Refinish the exposed wood supports to provide a smooth, durable, non-absorbent, and easily cleanable finish. 11) Replace the damaged MDF under the soda fountain. 12) Repair the ventilation fan in the restroom. 13) Provide weather stripping to the back exterior door. Please contact the Department to schedule a follow-up inspection at 602.506.6824 once violations have been corrected. Please be advised that the New Business Permit Application fee includes one initial inspection and one follow-up inspection. Additional fees will be assessed for any additional follow-up plan review inspections. MCESD inspection report was delivered via email. No County legal action will result from this inspection.

Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
