Discussed with person in charge training staff to wash their hands after engaging in activities that may have contaminated their hands such as when handling their personal cell phone. Person in charge indicated they would train staff. The hands may become contaminated when the food employee engages in specific activities such as (but not limited to): changing gloves, coming back from the restroom upon entering the kitchen, between raw and ready to eat foods, after handling dirty dishes, eating/drinking/smoking, after touching hair/face, after touching service animals, when changing tasks in the kitchen, after handling cash/credit cards, and when hands/gloves have become soiled. The increased risk of contamination requires handwashing immediately before, during, or after these kinds of activities (even if gloves are worn).

Priority Foundation-7-202.11, Pf: Restriction-Presence and Use>>>Observed two spray bottles of household fly insecticide and one spray bottle of bulk insecticide in the establishment. The establishment may only store chemicals necessary for the maintenance of the establishment; the establishment is not allowed apply their own pesticides and thus must remove/prevent the storage of any household/non-certified pest control applied pesticides. Person in charge indicated the establishment has a certified pesticide applicator and willingly discarded of the pesticides.

Reviewed: date marking (labelling ready to eat foods within 24 hrs. and discarding them 6 days after), time as a control, vomit/fecal accident clean up plan A copy of the inspection report was emailed. Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
