Inspection Comments

New permit walk through conducted with the management. The following items are identified for follow up: 1). Hand wash sink faucet at the cooks line is leaking. 2). Re-caulk the hand wash sink at the top wall juncture. 3). Clean the floor sink under the center soda station. 4). Repair cabinet floor where damaged in the front counter. 5). The dual check valve at the tea brewer is leaking at the joints. Please repair. 6). Water filter is leaking in the back room, please repair. 7). Please have the backflow valve upstream of the soda system re-tested and certified. 8). There are two floor sinks that are not in use. Install expandable plugs or make sure there is water in the p-traps. 9). Clean the refrigeration coil on the display cooler in the front area. 10). Repair the handle on the restroom door. 11). Repair the atmospheric vacuum breaker on the mop sink faucet. 12). Re-mount the uni-strut on the three compartment sink spray arm assembly. 13). Please repair the leaking three compartment sink spray arm assembly. 14). Re-plumb the condensate on the walk-in cooler and bring it clear of the pad. Make sure water does not pool. 15). Clean the fan covers on the walk-in unit. 16). Remove any organic matter buildup off the racks and electric conduit in the walk-in. 17). Provide sufficient lighting in the center room with prep sink and ice machine, same at dry storage. 18). Provide a brighter light bulb in the walk-in. This establishment/operation has been evaluated and qualifies for the issuance of the permit. To complete the permitting process, meaning issuance of this permit, and begin operation, the applicant must first submit payment of the annual operating permit fee to the Department’s Administrative Services. Note that fees paid up to this inspection approval did not include the annual operating permit fee. PAYMENT with a credit/debit card can be made via phone at 602-506-6824, Option 2. Per MCEHC Chapter I, Regs 4 & 5, no person shall conduct an operation or operate an establishment for which a permit is required without holding the necessary and valid permit to do so. No operating permit is valid, until the permit fee is received by the Department. It is also the responsibility of the permit holder/owner to notify MCESD if there are contact/ billing address changes. No County legal action will result from this inspection. Priority foundation violation is a minor violation that does not directly contribute to an increased risk of foodborne illness but failure to correct this violation may lead to the occurrence of a priority violation.
e.g.- Hand washing soap and paper towels not available at hand wash sink (may lead directly to food employees not properly washing hands when required)
Core violation is a minor violation that relates to general maintenance and sanitation.
e.g. -No sign reminding employees to wash hands
Verification Visits are inspections of establishments enrolled in the MCESD Cutting Edge Program, which requires an enhanced food safety program and ongoing demonstration of active managerial control. Verification Visit inspections found in compliance with Cutting Edge program requirements receive an “A” grade.
